Default Engine Restore

Yesterday I was at autozone and I saw a can of some stuff called "engine restore". It said that it will make your engine like brand new inside. And that I'll feel more power. Who doesn't want more power right? But after I dumped the whole can in my crankcase, my pillow pressure dropped immensely. I used to get 40 psi at idle, now I get 20. Wtf is going on here? Did this stuff clean the engine so good that there's hardly any restrictions now for the oil to be pumped through? I did a few dozen WOT pulls to 140+ to see if I'd get my pressure back. But now it seems to be even lower?

How many miles on the motor? Pressure is a measure of restriction but that's a pretty big drop.

Welcome to LS1tech!

The Restore may have loosened some gunk in the engine that's now stuck in the oil filter-as it should be.

I would suggest you now do an oil & filter change. Use a good filter like a Mobil1, K&N or Wix. No Fram or store brand.

140 MPH, eh? Tell us more about this vehicle.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER add anything to your oil and then go drive the car. Only let it idle after adding ANYTHING to your oil......no revving either.....just idle RPMs.

WOT after adding that crap to your engine can literally destroy it....depending on how much you diluted your already old oil.

Do TWO oil changes. Drain it all out.....then fill it with 4 qrts of any cheap oil. Run it for 5 minutes so it warms up a little. Drain that oil. Then change the oil filter and put new oil in.

Go see if your oil pressure is back to normal. Hopefully by going WOT with thinned out oil from the Engine Restore crap....you didn't damage your main bearings or any other bearings.

Anything that says..."Pour this in your engine and it'll be like brand new" means its total garbage and to never ever buy it.

If you want to clean your crankcase....ONLY idle after pouring any cleaning chemicals into the crankcase.

Yes the OP. He creates new user accounts all the time. The SRK mod has caught on to him. You can see he is banned again.
