Had an epiphany today. When I first got these rockers, the exhaust roller tip was off the valve stem by a fair amount. Don't know if the previous owner ran it like that or what, but I rearranged the side shims to make the lineup better. So, after remembering this today, I was able to move a half-shim from one side of the intake rocker to the other and gain sufficient clearance to fit 3/8" PRs. The intake roller tip is still completely on the valve stem, but no longer centered. Is this gonna be a problem? I know it's not ideal, but is it workable?

This is true. I called Tick today to talk to Martin and they said "He no longer works here"

Not taking anything away from op but I have a set of T&D rockers but they are blue. I called them and they said they are for a sbc and not a ls but could be used, still a 1.7 rocker. Do you think I sould still use them ? Sorry op but this is the only thread I seen, thanks

Geometry would be screwed up? That's if the holes even line up.

I'm just thinking... SBC is a 23 degree head. LS1 is 15 degree. I guess you could use them, but I'm surprised everything lined up without issue.

It will torque the rocker a bit and likely reduce the fatigue life. By how much I don't know. Have you considered re-centering and using double taper 3/8 pushrods? They would seem to present the best solution.

I did look at trying this. The metal around the exhaust PR holes is only 1/4" thick or so, no problem there, but the intake PR holes near the ports are fairly long - like 2" or better. The double tapers would hit the wall irregardless of where the taper starts. The only PR's that might work with the rocker centered would be the single tapers with the big end at the bottom. I'm gonna run it like this, at least until a problem becomes known. Ordered a set of comp 7987's, these are 3/8" OD x 0.080" wall x 8.15"...

BTW, what makes Trend's $300, Manley's $200, and Comp's $150? Metallurgy and mfg technique seems to be the same...
