I know, that's what my problem is, how did I increase 50 hp and yet lose 15 ft lbs of torque. It just makes no sense.

What a difference a different dyno makes. Went to a dyno jet today, did 4 pulls. All four the a/f is about 13.5 at wot. Got all the sheets for uncorrected, SAE and Standard. Here is the results.

SAE STD Uncorrect
HP Torque HP Torque HP Torque
Pull #1 411.1 374.5 419.1 381.8 400.5 365.00
Pull #2 415.2 376.1 423.2 366.2 404.2 366.2
Pull #3 416.2 380.3 424.0 387.4 403.7 368.8
Pull #4 412.4 379.5 419.9 386.5 399.2 367.3

Now is this good numbers?

I had a TSP 231/237 112 cam installed, but left the stock heads. I gained 38rwhp but only 4rwtq????? Better than losing torque I guess I was hoping for more torque, so maybe its time for heads! Will heads do the trick?? anybody??

those mustang dynos are quirky, I've seen a few odd dyno's down here in florida. I think there is alot more to them than that they have load and because of this subract like 10%. They must account for other variables etc.

Steve, I went to the place we talked of earlier, Advance Chassis Dyno on Metro Ct. off of 16 mile rd. between Van Dyke and Mound Rd. They only do dyno pulls, no tuning. They do some dyno work for GM, but do most of the dyno work for Chrysler Corp. He told me 3 pulls for $75.00, plus the a/f which I think was $25.00, he actually did 5 pulls, one didn't register on the dyno because the computer said it exceeded the limits (he must have had the redline set up wrong in the computer, he kept shutting it down around 6200 rpm, then he said he was going to take close to the rev limiter and he must not have changed the computer. It did shut down at 6600 rpm, then they reset the computer and ran it to the rev limiter on pull number 4. For some reason, the hp went down, I think it was because the motor was hot and there couldn't have been more that 2 or three minutes between the two runs, just long enough to reset the computer. Call them, there are extremely helpful,

As for your prediction, very insightful.

Wink Dyno info scaled wrong!

https://ls1tech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=9831
theres something odd about they dyno sheet...if you look at the two hp curves from 2600-3700 it looks like the new combo has more hp, but then if you look at the tq curves the old setup has more tq that makes no sense.
The rpm is not scaled correct on your test graph. Most obvious since Torq. and HP do not equal at 5252 RPM. Just for info there are several other post on this site where people are questioning dyno results and the data is incorrect similar to your graph.

Also any time torque is gained above 5200 with a loss below, (example huge cam, retarded cam timing, etc.) you will gain HP numbers and Loose torque. Remember torque is the only one measured, HP is just calculated.

HP=T x RPM/5252.

glad someone got in here and explained how you can gain hp and lose torque. lol, it's just a math equation.
