Default rear main seal, which brand is best?

got the trans out of my 02 5.3 Lade so might as well do the rear main too
(slight dripage)
I see Victors and FelPros both around the same price.
Are both USA made? I usually stick with FelPro but opening this to which is the best and lasts the longest.

I've always used GM rear main seals and never had a problem.

Eh never did i say they were junk. Just prefer using OE stuff on certain things. How come with the intake gaskets?

I have 5 4.3s from 01-03 and every one has intakes failed as early as 60K
FelPros fixed the plastic problem ones

I have never had or heard of anyone having problems with the OEM o-ring intake gaskets. As long as you don't over torque I have even had success reusing them. I wouldn't base any opinion of the ls engine on problems you had with a 4.3 v6, they are two entirely different platforms (the ls being much superior in a lot of ways, gasket sealing being a big one). That being said, I generally use felpro and have no complaints.
