Default 2001 lq4...any different?

Hey guys, so it looks like the short block lq4 I bought is a 2001. Is there any difference with that early year then any of the other lq4 stuff. Ls t56 still bolt up?

Same same. The older ones had the cast iron heads, and the later(2005+) has better rods, but T56 will bolt up no problem.

Awesome! Thanks! I guess the 99 and 2000 need the fly wheel spacer?

i thought the engines with cast iron heads have the crank flange thats bigger (spacer built in), which wouldnt work with a t56?

The 99-2000 LQ4 have a longer crank so the T56 won't work. The 2001 and up need the spacer for some auto trans but the T56 bolts up.
