Default LQ4 - Questions - First Build

Engine is a 2004 LQ4 with 73,000 miles

What all can be changed, modified, or deleted. I'm referring to things such as:

1. EGR
2. PCV
3. Oil Cooler - You can run a cooler or use the bypass plate correct? Any benefit as to running a cooler?
4. Is there any preventative stuff I need to do before it goes in the car.

And i would like to know what is this line that goes in between the heads?

Egr can be deleted. Keep the pcv the way it is and add a catch can if you want. You won't need to run the oil cooler unless you are road racing or doing a lot of heavy towing. I can't see your pic but i am pretty sure you are talking about the steam port line which you will need to reuse. You also need to let everyone know what vehicle this is going in and what trans you have.
