LSX will net you the most power. depending on your goals then it might be worth it but for the typical bolt on application its not worth it over the LS6 intake.

id say the lsx or tpis ones are the best within a couple of hp, ls6 second though thats basically what the tpis is just with a larger oval TB, then the weiand IMHO really with any of the 3 you cant go wrong its just how much you wanna spend to go fast

lsx 90mm seems to be proving itself, I would also wait and see what the ls2 does.

The July 04 issue of chevy high performance has a good dyno comparison article of 5 different intakes. They compare a stock ls1, ls6, 6.0l truck intake, lsx, and the weiand. Believe it or not the Ls6, lsx and 6.0l truck intakes were all pretty close in hp and tq.

The LS6 is all you need. Best intake for your money.

go read the sticky about the LSX intake in the dyno forum and come to a decision on your own. i personally think they arent worth it unless your trying to wring the absolute most hp you can from your setup.

on a stock cube motor I would say the LS6 is the best of them all.
we will be using a 90mm FAST on the 408 stroker motor project but that is because of the larger cubes, stage 3 heads and plans for N2O

I know there is a shop porting out LS6 intakes for even better flow and I've heard they're picking up 5-7 extra RWHP over the stock LS6 and that's what I plan on doing for my stock-cube, cam-only, bolt-on car.

Dont forget the pricey cost of a TB if you choose a fast intake!

I would get the LSX for two primary reasons. 1. If you ever decide to do serious mods it will still deliver and it won't hurt you with a stock cube. 2. If you ever decide to sell it you will get top dollar. Do you need an LSX, probably not with your mods, do you want an LSX, probably so. Besides it goes fast and looks kool under the hood. LOL!

I would pick up the lsx intake ifyou dont mind spending the money. I dont think you wouldnt need to port it though. If you add heads and cam later you wont have to upgrade again later looking for that few extra ponies.

Go ahead and add another 300-400 dollars to the LSX for a throttlebody. It's sooooo not worth ~ $1000 bucks in my opinion. As for the LS6 intake, its more like $400 brand new, and you can get a used one for around $300. It's not like that part sees a lot of wear anyway.
