How strong are factory flat tops?

Later 5.3s came with flat tops also, much like the iron 6.0s did when going from dished to flat tops.

The L33 5.3 had flat top pistons and the gen IV has flat top pistons. Many people have put the 4.8 pistons in 5.3 's that had the dish pistons to up the compression.
