I was gonna write something, but Darth covered it all.

Once you start wanting to make power on that level, there's SO MUCH MORE to it than the cam you chose. And at that point the most limiting factor usually ends up becoming your bank account lol.

Something to think about as guys put LS3 260 intake runner heads on 6.0 motors ALL THE TIME.

The million dollar question to this day is... is a LS3 head too much for a 6.0 ?

well valve shrouding can be a small issue but it really depends on the combo.

This is closing in on 600 with an unported fast 102 and stock 243 heads, its not reving north of jesus either.

take with a grain of salt. Dynos are meant to compare gains not bench race vs other dynos in other conditions. You could make 450 on one dyno and 500 on another. All in the differences from pull to pull. You gained nothing but ego.

I assume you're talking crank HP. If so then I would say yes, 600 is doable on an iron block. For instance, my LQ9 bottom has stock LS3 heads and a pretty mild 227/236 cam. It made 442/420 through the auto and 3.15 gears. If you do the math for normal drivetrain loss and such, you can assume that the engine is somewhere in the mid 500s at the crank. I would think that if I went a little more rowdy with the cam and bumped the compression up from 10.4 to closer to 11.0 I'd be somewhere close to the 600 FWHP mark.

Gotcha. Over thinking everything concerning this 408 stroker build. Grabbed a cast iron 6.0 block from a junkyard and looking to get 600 N/A for now…..until I shoot for boost in the future.
