My opinion differs some, as I'm after usable power and feel anything over a 215cc Intake runner will hurt my usable powerband. Same thing goes for the 1 7/8 headers, been there done that on one of my first z06's. Never again on a stock cube LS1/6.

Having raced for the better part of 25 years, the car at full weight and 3:42 rear and 6 spd will be all over 10's in the 1/4 mile. It's very very strong.

My car is going to be an auto.. and as for the headers I'm defiantly going 1-7/8 not going to get 1 3/4 then have to upgrade when i go bigger.. Buying kooks 1 time, spending the money and I'm done... i have put nothing but kooks on all my cars through the years.

My remarks to him in this thread were relevant to the question he asked. I dont give two ***** what anyone elses car runs. My goal is MY car runs faster each and every time I make a change and go back out. Ive got a decent track record at that so im gonna keep at it and see what me and MY car can accomplish before I change directions. See how I didnt get insulted when tigger said there is prolly more left in it, something I'm missing. Try that approach sometime bud.

Kooks duals and 17/8" X 3" Kooks headers on mine. Absolutely love the sound. I'll never have another exhaust again.

Default BEST HCI For 370" & N2O

Best HCI IMHO is MMS 235 W/ NFI Exhaust port.
345+CFM from 25 CC smaller intake than LS3 &
Excellent exhaust that will need no more than 4*-6*
more exhaust duration for 250+ Shot VS 12*-16*
more exhaust on a LS3 with 250+ Shot. Car will
Be much more fun and responsive on the street
And will have enough power to go 10s engine only
With medium sized cam roughly (235*/239*)
I would have Tony MAMOFY a Fast 102, Spec Cam
For you and have CAMMOTION Grind it for you
For the best quality steel and gentle lobes for
Longevity & Valvetrain Stability. Add a NW 102 TB
And pretty much done.
Just my .02

Hell, you can run that time cam only. My buddy does it cam only.

But, if you're looking for a good heads/cam package, I'd hit up Brian Tooley and allow him to guide your build.

This^

That is what we're shooting for now. We've been 11.58 NA (stock lift/stock duration cam) but have a new BIG cam to hopefully put in soon with new springs, pushrods, etc. and plan to have Pat G. do our new tune. We're light enough in good air I think it will go 10.99 with our untouched 241 heads. That's the goal anyway ... And then we plan to spray it into the 9s.

Holy cow! My wife and I just moved to Longview in October and I thought I was going to have to drive 90 minutes to Pine Valley in Lufkin or 2.5 hours to Ennis. You're just over an hour for us. Nice!!! That might be our new home track. What is the name of the track and is it fast, well-prepped, etc.? And most importantly does LA honor our CHL so that I can continue to carry across state lines?

EDIT: Just looked it up. Thunder Road Raceway. Do they run 1/4 or 1/8 on their local bracket program?

Thanks.

Scott

Full 1/4 with a 1/2 mile shutdown. Since the new owners took over a couple of years ago the prep has been pretty good.

And yes on the chl last I knew.

Good luck on your build, to get your goals met you will need 4000+ converter and good suspension. all of the combos mentioned have potential to run strong, I make good power with mild ported 241s and an f14 cam (232/234 .599 lift 112 lsa 108 cl ) so bigger is not always better.
I am in the process of swapping my heads to Dart 225's mildly touched up with a valve job on a lq4 sbe. going up 60 cfm and raising compression 1 point looking for 10.99 my self. I'm running a 200 4r trans, 4500 nitrous converter and plan to spray but my goal is 10.99 n/a
3700 race weight, weight is killing me but im not gutting the car for the number.

So by "full weight" do you mean maybe a 3400-3500lb car?

H/C 346 6spd w/ 3.42 rear to be in the 10's at 3600-3700lb race weight? I'd think, maybe, with a 100-150 shot. Also be ready to burn the clutch trying to get any good 60'.

Maybe someone has done it. I would just have to see to believe.

after killing 3 spec 3 clutches, a spec 3+ and McCloud RST twin disk and a Centerforce dual friction clutch with a 3800 lb car and 4.10 gears with 26" tires, I completely agree with you.
