Default Cam in a 5.3 vs 6.0 swap?

I can get a 6.0 for anywhere from 1,000 - 1,500 depending on condition.
A 5.3, usually, goes for half that around here.
So, starting from a 4.8 liter (whoops) and bone stock F-body 4L60E that I've got in my hobby truck, am I best off to spend the money on the 6.0 or put a cam in a 5.3?
It's a truck, I want it to be fun to drive on the street but don't care what happens after 5K RPM. It won't likely ever tow more than 5,000 lbs but I'd like it to be able to do that going up mountains (I live near the Sierras), so I can't give up *all* the torque below 3,000 RPM.

EDIT: It's relevant that I don't want to be into it for a new torque converter or trans upgrades, either. I am not up for spending a couple thousand on the engine + another on the trans for this vehicle.

For what you want a 6.0 is a no brainer over the 5.3. No matter what cam you put in a 5.3 it will never have the torque of the 6.0.
