Default LS1 Oil Pan Girdle?

Anyone make these still? Do they actually help with boosted engines in rigidity? Thanks

I don't see how a girdle would improve anything on the Gen III+ motors. The main caps sit recessed into the block and are tied in side to side by the 5th and 6th bolts on the main caps.

I understand the purpose on the 2 or 4 bolt main motors, it locks all the main caps together because they don't have any support side to side.

I don't think it's worth the trouble.

I can't see how it makes any difference on an LS block.
A conventional Chevy motor has its main caps secured side to side but not front to back. These LS blocks tie in side to side and front to back... a girdle will tie all the caps together, essentially not allowing any single cap to flex side to side.

The bottom of the block (the skirt) is the cap girdle. Addition components there won't do anything unless you're building something really ridiculous. And then you'd start with a better block.
