After reading through this entire thread, I ordered my Straub upgrade kit. I'm building a 6.0 for my 84 T/A and though I don't plan on running it to the moon, I'd have nightmares about lost bearings in my engine. That said, my Avalanche has 100K miles with no appreciable wear, none obvious by taking the valve covers off but without removing the rockers. That said, it's totally stock where as the TA will have .600+ lift and will see some, shall we say, spirited use.

My friend found these. Are they real or fake?

lol, those look like the knockoffs Chris talked about happening earlier in this thread. It was inevitable.

That's about normal price. Might not be knockoffs but since same basic price, why not buy from the source if concerned? I've bought items from that dealer before(OEM NOS LS2 pistons IIRC) and they were legit.

I agree they look legit to me also. I'm ordering from the source in a day or two anyway, I was just curious since they are listed as engine pro brand.

I was under the impression these were made in china like the other trunion upgrade kits, is that not true? If so, and Chris doesnt confirm the distributor, then they're obviously fake. If they can make an iPhone look identical, they can make a trunion kit look identical.

WEll ive started my car after the straub (series 2, machined flats vs original design but no oil band) bushing retrofit, Morel 5315 OE style lifters, (lots of preload lol got new 7.350 pushrods on the way) and a custom 214/228 .561/.561 115.5+4.5 cam motion cam and the engine is dead quiet. Can't hear the valve train over the supercharger. Ive had the rockers off more times than I can count doing pushrods and length checks and all the rockers still move freely and seem to be working well.

So far I'm happy with the straub bushing kit!

Also note the Chinese stuff has landed and being as good as they are they have copied the kit down to the packaging. I've already had someone tell me the "imposter" had rust on the trunnions. That's from 10 weeks on the Pacific so buyer beware.

Buyer beware, AND buy from the source, or at least source-approved outlets...
Should avoid a few headaches....

People should also be aware that the Chinese have knocked-off LS rocker arms (Alibaba). I can't post a link, but Google: "LS Rocker Arms for Chevrolet cadillac 10214664" and it will show at Alibaba.

I just read the 40 pg thread.

Why has there not been posts of results after 25, 30, 40 even 50,000 miles. I know there are daily driven cars running .600 lift cams and dual springs out there. Wheres the proof? I have heard of the corvette school durability test but no pictures of results yet.

Is there not a robust option for upgrading a stock LS1 trunion?

We released these to the public last February. We have not reinvented the wheel here as the bronze material used has been used in OEM production vehicles from Ford and Chrysler for decades in given engine families.

There are a few customers on here with 15K miles. We have a driving school vette with over 40K miles. I have an airboat customer with 4 supply guide boats with 100's of hours on them making 3 to 5 hours supply runs at 4400 rpm.

We have shipped over 11K kits since February of 2016. Except for a few cased of squeaking in the beginning and after that we supply an assembly grease I have not had one report of failure.

That's great news.
