Eskimo supply runs in the frozen north. Sounds like a better show than ice road truckers for sure

Read 6 tech pages and spend the time to research and buy once. lol...

hard lesson to learn. Wish I had done that when I first started instead of just going with the first thing I saw that someone mentioned and I didn't verify.

Thumbs up Just finished

replacing a NEW CC needle kit w/ Chris' bushing kit.
FIRST CLASS service, [3 days to the door].
No shavings, no binding, no sweat.
Ran the rockers thru a ultrasonic cleaner... Looked new. Much nicer to work with, during the install. I used parts of the Summit needle install tool, and my drill press. Bout an hr, start to finish.
A super clean install.

Wanna run something by you. I just purchased a Straub kit from a well known sponsored vendor recently and the kit just arrived. After opening up the box I'm a bit worried I got a counterfeit kit. Here's some pics. The pics in this thread vs what I got are a bit off. My kit has no grease, instructions seem "off", no mention of sockets for install/removal, no Straub sticker on the front. Please advise. Thanks

I would say that is an older set from Straub. That's exactly what mine looked like when I got them a little over a year ago.

This is best product made for the LS Community and Straub trunnions are 100% made in the USA.
It makes me sick how many ls1tech sponsors are now selling cheap Chinese made parts to unwary ls1tech members here; you know who you are. Chinese parts will destroy a motor and these sponsors will do nothing for anyone.

That looks like the Smith Brothers kit I just installed, first class stuff but the instructions SUCK I used my mill to press them in with a washer(from a Michigan motorsports kit) and a 3/4 12 point socket. Took longer to clean the rockers than the install...

Why would they ship something other then what I paid for and ordered? I'm still waiting on Straub to respond to my PM regarding this kit. It makes no sense to try and ship me something I didn't order with out letting me know personally. Hopefully it is the real deal

I didn't think I would have to be questioning authenticity from a sponsored vendor. I'll return them if they are in fact not the real McCoy.

Needle bearing trunion failure is a very real issue on performance based LS engines.

The Straub kit offered directly or indirectly via other vendors, is our preferred solution.

Default Update!

Spoke to Chris about the above pics, they are in FACT his work. He did say that for his bulk suppliers, those kits don't come with their assembly grease or his swag sticker. Feeling bettter about the whole thing now.

Chris gladly offered to ship me a container of his grease also. A+ rating in my book!

What you talking bout Willis?

If your referring to my post, I was talking about the pictures and question I asked a few posts up. Never mentioned anything about Straub making anyone else's kit......

The pictures you posted of the kit you received are from Smith Brothers, I just installed the same kit. FWIW
