I ordered some summit bushings and they had corrosion on the bushings so I sent them back. So I ordered some from chris and they came in THE EXACT BOX and had THE EXACT DIRECTION SHEET as the summit ones. The Straub trunnions did look smoother than the summit brand. and no corrosion

I see Summit's version is $20 cheaper. They look exactly like all the others.

I got a kit directly from Straub and there was a lot of green corrosion on the ID of the bushings and rust on the shafts. Who actually manufactures these kits? Is it Smith Brothers?

Question

Anyone ever see a failure of the Texas Speed rockers? https://www.texas-speed.com/p-6147-t...oller-tip.aspx

I have a set I was going to install, but if they use the same trunions as Comp and GM, I think I'd rather upgrade now than have issues down the road...

If so..

Would Straub or CHE kits work on my Texas Speed rockers?

I know T.S. sells them with CHE bushings as an option so maybe you can return yours for the CHE bushed ones. If it was me, I'd sell the T.S. roller rockers and use the OE rockers with brass bushings (CHE or Straub).

Right, but only if the cam is .600 lift or less. After that the roller tip is way easier on the valve tips, IMO.

I've been running 0.624" lift cam with OE bushed (Straub) rockers since they were introduced without any problems at all. Nice and quiet.

I will be doing a spring change this week on a set of these trunions that have 13,000 miles on them over the last two summers.

Will report back the findings

Please dump your oil after 50 miles and let us know what you see. As far as I know, only two people have done it and it hasn't been pretty.

interesting that u says this... I have yet to hear any negative feedback on straub kits till now. I put 1k on my car this summer and that’s 1k of beating on it every chance i get. I drained 3 qts and found nothing in the oil. 10w30 mobil 1 synthetic and purolator filter.

The first oil change after trunnion bushing installation COULD show some bronze particles from the bushings wearing off any possible rough or sharp edges. It does not happen all the time, and nothing to worry about.
