Default Muahahaha, it's alive (224/224 110 cam)!!!

Guys, this past Saturday (the 20th I think) I started my cam install. Wouldn't you know it, I dropped a lifter after rotating the cam about 10 times. I had to pull the driver side head (the number 5 exhaust lifter was the lifter of offense) and drop the oil pan to get it and reinstall it. On the bright side I now know the ls1 motor like the back of my hand. It took me one week to do all of this which included breaking quite a few things along the way including the oil pressure sending unit.

This comp xe 224/224 106icl 110lsa 565/565 cam does everything I wanted it to do very well with a 6 speed and 3.42 gears. It makes more power from 1000 rpms up then my stock cam, especailly above 3000 rpm. It pulls hard all the way to 6500 where I shift. And it thumps hard . Judging by the smell of my exhaust I don't think I have a prair of passing emmissions. I just put autotap on it and it is running suprisingly close to the parameters I had before with a stock cam. However, my ltrms are slightly posative at wot now (they used to be 0 before) so I need to get them back to zero to keep the pcm from adding fuel. Also, I am going to try to put more timing in it once the rain stops to see how it does (I beleive a bigger cam allows you to get away with more timing). I also must drill the throttle body as the cam wants to die on me about 4 seconds after firing the motor up and under certain hard breaking which I believe is the cam not making enough vacuum to keep the computer happy.

IN SHORT ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY USING PEN MAGNETS SO GO OUT AND GET SOME IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO A CAM INSTALL.

P.S. After it was all said and done I am glad that I dropped a lifter because I now know how to remove the intake, oil pan, and heads.
