Which upgraded springs/pushrods for boosting a stock LS1?
I tried searching as I'm sure this is a question as old as time itself, but alas didn't find anything specific.
I have a stock 43k mile LS1 that I'm going to boost. 8-9psi max. Everything is staying stock including the cam. It's generally recommended to upgrade the springs and pushrods to support the boost. A couple questions:
1.) I'm not a valvetrain expert by any means so I was hoping to get recommendations to specific spring kits/parts needed that will work properly. It's just the stock cam with some boost added to it, don't think I need anything fancy, just want to be sure I'm buying the right stuff and that it won't affect the way the stock cam performs in a negative way.
2.) Can I just replace the pushrods with stock-length hardened versions since nothing else in the top end is really changing? Is 7.400" the right length to order?
Reliability/quality takes priority over cost. This car will get driven a lot.
