Cam pitting. Is this one usable?

This is the only lobe with any visible wear. The rest are fine.
Think about it, you have 2 smooth surfaces that will be pushed together, rotating,
if one of those surfaces have a rough spot on it what will it do to the other surface?
It most likely could make the other surface the same way, and that would create
ground up metal running through your oil system, around the bearings.
I would check the bearings to see if they are bad as well. thats just my .02
good luck
So if ya dont have much money at the time and dont care that your going to have to take it back out and rebuild again soon.. sure reuse it
If i had your cam id reuse it
just to see what would happen
Here is the sound it makes, as i can only guess, the sound your lobe was making was really close to this sound here..
Make sure to subscribe to see the outcome of this junkyard 5.3
peace

If the cam is indeed an MS4, even though was ground by comp, and you're the second owner, I will take 100 off a replacement camshaft that is our in house grind. This way you never have to worry about the quality

The cam, main and rod bearings were toast, cam lobes and lifters were ground bare. There was even damage to the lifter bores due to debris.
I would take Texas-Speed up on their offer.
