i am keeping those injectors maybe for a year or so.

and i can see that your combo home is a vette so i wont worry about it much

Good luck with the build !
Actually this build is for the 98 ss so It will be less aerodynamic and a little heavier.

So I ended up going with the stock LS3 heads. I read an article where they took a 468ci LS motor with a 280ish cam and made 692hp on stock ls3 heads. Put a set of cnc'd LS3 heads on and picked up 28hp. So with a 408 and a a much smaller cam I would likely see maybe 20hp? I figure I'll just take that $800 and get me a decent plate kit and make another 150hp....

Depends on who ports it. Frankenstein has ported LS3s that have done a lot more than 690 with a 408 with a lot less cam...

That would be $1500 on top of what I already have. And I would have to see the results to believe that. Really hard for me to believe there "stage 1" ported ls3 heads are going to make 550-600rwhp not even knowing cam specs and it being an LQ9. Unless I'm completely missing something. (which is possible) lol.

We've had several customers make over 550 rwhp to the tire with the stock bottom end ls3. If you build it right a 408 with our stg 1 heads will make 550-600 rwhp no problem.

Our stg 1 cost $1450 for all the labor and our FRH spring kit using PAC springs.
