Default Need some help

Ok guys so I'm building a 4.8 ls Gen lll picked up a set of 243 heads need the exact arp head stud part#

As the 243 was the LS6 head, it would be 2003 and earlier so the ARP stud kit is 234-4110 with hex nuts, 234-4316 with 12 point nuts.

Thought head bolt length was determined by the year of the block not the heads?

Yes that is correct. Gen3 have the two different lengths. Gen4 are all the same.

Ahh yes, that's correct.

Turbochrisss, as you stated you have a Gen III block, the kit numbers above should still be correct.

The change in bolt length came in 2004 so you should confirm the block's year.

And 2004 had both styles depending when the engine was built. If all the big bolts are the same size you have the 2004 and up style.
