Guys -
The block is built under the same criteria GM uses on the OEM build of LS1/LS6. The rotating assembly is properly balanced. The block is not 'secondarily' decked, or decked a second time - no need...it is plucked directly off the OE assembly line.
As for 'blueprinted' - no. Lets reserve blueprinted for something that gets matched bearings, squaring fixtures, etc - true blueprinting is wonderful, but not for the masses...just way too much $$$$ for street / semi-pro usage. For 3595, you won’t find a truly blueprinted engine. I generally think people use the term 'blueprinting' too freely when describing an engine. The SLP engine is a properly engineered and precisely assembled short block -
Availablity - these will be built and on the shelf, ready to sell. They are NOT available yet, but we are working on it! NO CORES - sold outright.
Sales tax, absolutely for NJ buyers – unless you are a ‘reseller’.

This looks like a good deal. I would just like to know the weight of the iron block vs the aluminum block. If it is only 60-100# I might consider it for my Monza instead of the LS1.

108lbs, so that would weigh about the same as my current iron block/ aluminum head 355. I need to get weight off the front end so I'll probably stick with the all aluminum motor.

It does look like a great deal. However, about the balancing & blueprinting, I've copied this from HPE: "Fully balanced and blueprinted at HPE to our extremely precise tolerences for a long maintenance free life" Their product is similar in parts, however, comed fully blueprinted & balanced. I guess it is for the masses

I'm gonna bring this TTT one more time with another question. I didn't see the type of fasteners used. OEM GM or ARP, etc? I thought the GM rod bolts were weak from the get go so it would be nice to know if these are ARP, one less concern with a higher powered engine.

This sounds like a very reasonable price for what you get. After my baby gets here and my money gets back in order I am probably going to go with something like this.

Still need High Compression vs. Low Compression Piston Dish defined.
Heads will have a big influence on Compression Ratio.
What chamber cc are they assuming for their calculations? 66-67cc ?

I doubt the HPE is fully blueprinted. I agree the term has been adapted to be used very loosely and flexibly. I think they are using the term like horsepower said. The time required to fully blueprint an engine is rediculous.
