Default internals needed for 10's in 98-02 fbody

Are 10's possible, while being full weight, stock bottom end, and maintaining some comfort on the street? Obviously it will take full bolt ons, plus heads and cam. Will it take aftermarket heads, or just quality-ported 243's? An obnoxiously large cam? Is a SS4000 stall enough? LS6 or fast intake? Any suggestions would be great!

Full weight makes it difficult for sure, but not impossible
Those who have gone high tens with cnc243s and a street able 228/232 sized cam usually get rare mine shaft quality air.
You make everyday, real world, all the time tens ALOT easier with some Mamo 223, Trick Flow 220, or PRC 225 heads and all the compression you can create
Try staying away from a huge cam as torque will be needed to move all the weight.
Some 3.73 or 4.10 gears plus the 4000 converter will be needed as well as a very effective chassis to plant 1.50 sixty foot times
A 123-125 mile per hour will get it done but again, requires a well thought out and maximized combination. Won't be cheap at all. Plenty of threads to search here.
FAST intake needed and Jim Moran @ Speed Inc. knows how to tune very well

Stock bottom end? Forced induction power adder, maybe?

SBE, NA and run in the 10's at stock weight of the car? Not many could do that. At 3600+lbs , car and driver you'll need 490rwhp or so of everything being perfect to go 10.90's, low 120's with a real good 60 ft, it can be done, it would be difficult for sure with less than 11.5 compression, just saying.

I'm shooting for 10s also but I don't have ac. Car weighs in at 3350 without me in it, I ended up buying PRC 5.3 2.5 heads and ms3 cam, using a circle d 4500 stall though and 4.10s. I also drive this car everyday lol Gonna try to install this weekend so we'll see. from what I've read to do that with sbe you're gonna have to go "max effort" on everything.

The obsession with wanting to go that fast N/A on a street car with always fascinate me. Sure you can do it. You will have a huge cam and the car will likely run like crap for a street car.

Or you could do bolt-ons (or skip some of them and just go with a mild cam) and a small shot of nitrous and be done with it. At least your car would still be fun to drive.

Stock bottom end is plenty strong enough to run 10's. My buddy runs 10's N/A with just a cam and FAST intake (bone stock heads).

It depends on what you consider to be obnoxious. A cam in the upper 220s to low 230s duration with a good set of heads, intake, exhaust etc is what I think it will take at full weight. Good weather is part of the equation and for me, a lot of tweaking and testing. Also, what is full weight for you? I did it at #3650 with a cam that would be the equivalent of a 230/242 hydraulic. I got within a few hundredths with a 226/234 camshaft. All the little details need to be there.

That does not sound like a setup that I would want to drive everyday, but it should run well at the track.

A buddy of mine runs that head and cam in a full weight WS6, with 4000 stall, 3.73's, and MT dr's on the stock wheels. His best was 11.4 I believe

OP, take a look at the Mamo top end on sbe builds. If you want to run a good midrange cam and get into the tens, your best bet will be a Mamo top end.

Certainly any aftermarket cast head will be easier than a ported stock head option to hit those numbers.

You'll need to do a lot of optimization to get every ounce out of the car, light weight clutch, dual exhaust, gears, and set your valve train up to rev into the 7k range.

All that may not be necessary, but if you do all of it, you won't have to go back in later for corrective surgery

Got some examples to share of cars with that setup running 10s full weight?

Well by driving it everyday I mean going to work 1/2 mile and going around town which is only 1 mile wide lol

My goal is 10s but honestly I'd be happy if it ran that time.

Im doing it in 90 degree air. The cam is 23x 25x with 115+5 very tame till you step on it and will fly right through my 7200 limiter. That was an oops feeling my way through hptuners.

For what it's worth my car ran a 11.4 at almost 122 with a 1.69 60ft. And my car was far from optimized. 1 3/4 headers, stock maf, stock size lid, no ram air set up, heavy clutch. The only weight reduction my car has is back seats and spare tire. The rest of my mods are in my sig.

Thanks for the advice. I was more or less asking to see if it was possible. It appears that it is possible, but it would involve a fair share of work. I would definitely like to maintain some street manners, so a pro charger setup might be the ticket for me.
