So even if they're made in china, they're at least made to his spec's and he stands behind them. Based on the OP's post in this thread, the springs he bought were sold as a reputable vendor's springs and in actuality are chinese ebay springs known to have poor quality.

That is entire basis of my argument. If they were the vendors own springs and they failed, ok stuff happens. If they were ADVERTISED as rebranded Chinese springs than its buyer-beware. NEITHER OF THOSE IS THE SCENARIO.
So BTR can get springs from China, and that's ok, but another vendor can't?

The OP just said the packaging looks the same as the chinese springs he sees on eBay, but that doesn't mean it didn't come from the same plant manufactured to a different spec/quality requirement than the PEP springs. That doesn't mean that the ebay vendor and CoSpeed don't use the same boxes to ship springs in either.

My point is that there are still a lot of unanswered questions; too many to start grabbing pitchforks and lighting torches. We haven't even heard the other side of the story yet.

What are you talking about? Our springs ARE NOT made in China. I don't think ANYONE in China knows how to make a quality spring.

As a moderator you have engaged in slander and libel here, you may want to reconsider what you say in the future.

I doubt we'll hear the other side of the story. I get what you're saying KCS, but if the vendor was selling the exact same eBay springs anyone could purchase off eBay and then marking them up and advertising and selling them as something other than that, then that's not right in my opinion.

Well said Brian.

I think the Chinese springs are made mostly of bamboo shoots and rice.

Are you serious? Are you reading my entire replies or just picking and choosing what to reply to. I specifically said it was likely that most/all vendors get their springs from the same place, but the difference is the tolerance and quality process, but you seem to continually ignore that comment. Besides core materials used, the quality and test process is what entirely makes junk parts vs. well performing or higher end pieces. The OP even replied agreeing with why he's upset because it is highly suspect and looks like they advertised the springs as their own not a rebranded ebay piece. I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

And if the vendor doesn't choose to post up their side of the story, how is that anyone in this threads fault?

Brian Tooley, I did not mean to imply your stuff was made in china. I was speaking in generalities and if I came across or assumed that you springs were made the same place as most other springs, I apologize. So far I have been very happy with your product.

I understand that, and I agree, but that's still a big assumption based on a cardboard box. I take issue with anyone ready to lynch a Sponsor, whether its CoSpeed or BTR, based on assumptions and hardly any question as to how the springs were set up or if they were even appropriate for the application. I think it's well known that CoSpeed often ships products in generic brown boxes since they buy in bulk. I wouldn't really be surprised if their packaging looks very similar to some random ebay vendor. They probably both shop at Staples, lol.

I'm sorry you misread my post, but I'm not saying they're made in China. You need to read the bold text in the post I quoted. Not take my comment out of context.

Trust me, I'm in the QA/QC business myself so I understand that. Just to clarify my comment for the both of you, you wrote this:

Notice the portion in bold. You poised a hypothetical scenario where BTR sold Chinese springs, but it was ok since it would be built to their specs but in the very next sentence, you criticize another vendor for selling Chinese springs.

**Obviously, BTR springs are not Chinese springs, just in case anyone again missed that we're talking about a hypotheictal scenario.**

The main problem I see is that it's being assumed that they are the same exact Chinese PEP springs sold on ebay, without the consideration that it may just be that they come from the same place, but manufactured to a higher standard. I am not saying that is the case, but again, another hypothetical scenario to present judgments are made.

I criticized a vendor for NOT TELLING THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY WERE STANDARD CHINESE EBAY SPRINGS. There is plenty of quality stuff made in china and there is plenty of junk. From multiple posts, these PEP spring are the later, but the OP WASNT TOLD that is what they were. That is my problem. I think maybe we're just on different wavelengths, agree to disagree or whatever you'd like to call it.

Actually, the failure rate on our springs is lower compared to ALL other springs at the SAME price point.

+1 for BTR springs being quality

Always read people's experiences with parts before you purchase, cheap costs double in the end, and more

Manufactures probably have them tested on spintron, and provide the data to retailer like BTR , Tick, comp, TSP etc. If a place like Those actually had a spintron or paid to have them tested i would be shocked.

Thanks for saying so. The first Spintron testing was performed on these springs when I was still at TFS/TEA. Then after I left TFS changed spring vendors which is why I'm in the spring business.

The second Spintron testing was performed last December. We saw some issues with a LS7 and a LSA applications that we wanted to test. What we found is the 120 gram LSA intake valve is difficult to control and had a lot of bounce, and is a good application for something like the Comp conical springs, and the LS7 has a rocker/stand deflection issue which we fixed by redesigning the LS7 cam lobes.

We have good resources and we do a lot of testing.

Damn that sucks, I went cheap on a set of springs & had one fail too. Thankfully I noticed it missing & was lucky to catch it before it caused major damage.
