Like I said before, I got the non-pro and the AEM UEGO from Scoggin Dickey for less than $600 to my door.

Hi my name is John and I'm new to the site and building engines. I don't no if this is the right thread for this question but I can't figure out the site lol. I have a 5.3 out of a 04 avalanche and im try'n to figure out what it is ? Is it a lm7 5.3 or the other style? I have the vin code. But the guy told me it could be a t or z 8th digit but here the vin if somebody could shoot me in the right direction.

I'm going to mail them. If i'd find a second hand Hptuners kit i could just buy credits it seems. Not sure how mich for the credits though.

Credits cost about $25/ea. and you need 2 per vehicle last time I checked.

How is it that when i read about salvage engines on a dyno making +/-340 hp stock or with only headers and factory software? I thought they were rated 285hp?

Because most of the guys using the engine dynos are basically using gross HP ratings like they did in the 60s.

Dyno with no accessories, electric water pump, etc. They are rated at 285 net, which includes all accessories and emissions equip, plus water pump, etc.

You can log fuel pressure with the basic too. Just use the AC port and a FP sensor with the same output signal. You can even install a switch in the line so you can log fuel pressure when you want (AC will probably be off anyway) then when you don't, switch it so the AC wiring is as normal and have your AC. It's a win-win. Just have to set up the PID like you do with the EGR wideband.
