Detonation?
Detonation? Getting some new heads so I'm pulling my old ones today and noticed this on my #4 cylinder. There is a scratch on the cylinder wall then a bunch of little pin head type markings on piston and head. I recently had this coil go out and this cylinder wasn't running could it be from that? There are also like 3 of those pin head dents on my # 2 cylinder piston. Haven't ran my nitrous yet just N/A.

You said that cylinder wasn't firing...I can't tell from that pic but did part of the spark plug bust off and bounce around. I would not think that's detonation, looks like a "self clearancing" type issue
Thanks for reply. I've never seen detonation in person. No the spark plug looked fine. I'm just concerned about the scratch. I can barely catch it with my fingernail. Don't really have the money to fix it so I may just put the new heads on and run it. Still trying to figure out what could have gotten in there? I change intakes a few months ago maybe it was then?

I'd run a quick ball hone down it with some atf... dirty diy style. certainly far from the best option, but better than just throwing it back together.
Try to clean up the piston top too if you can. Any sharp edges will glow like little embers, and could potentially cause predetonation.
