Default quick question regarding dial indicators

Anyone know the PN of a dial indicator kit that will mount to an LS head or anywhere on an LS engine for that matter that I could measure either from the retainer or pushrod?

Most of the indicators have the same 8mm x 1.25mm thread that the LS uses for rocker bolts, header bolts, etc. so they all will bolt on. You just need extra rods and clamps to position the indicator.

I usually just bolt a piece of steel plate or an old cam retainer plate to the front or rear side of the head and mount the magnetic base to it.

do you know of any dial indicator stands with that thread pattern off hand? I havent been able to find one that uses metric, and most are magnetic bases.

I have a matco one that has both magnet and vise grip attachment. Any chance you could use vise grip attachment to do what you need?

Harbor Freight. You just undo the locknut and unscrew the rod from the base.
