OP, it is okay to ask a legitimate question - even if it seems silly at the time. As you have already figured out don't blindly trust anything Goofle tells you. Now get back to work.
On a simple chain engine like this it's no big deal. It's the DOHC/multi-chain/belt motors that have issues. The tensioners that they use tend to collapse when being spun backwards and then the chain or belt jumps a tooth. But on this simple OHV style there are no issues.
