Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
I can tell you what they flow on my SuperFlow 600. Last January I got to flow a new set of Stage 2's they had Ferrea 2.02 and 1.57 valves. Here is how they went on my bench with a 4" bore.
.100 67 55
.200 140 105
.300 203 145
.400 245 177
.500 278 198
.550 284 205
This is with NO test pipe on the exhaust. If you have any questions on these numbers e-mail me. And if you want to know what my heads flow let me know.

Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
All depends on the bench. You just just take flow numbers from different benches and compare numbers. Marketing seems to have a hand in some companies #'s.
I have flow numbers around somewhere, if you email me at austin.rr.com I'll send you the sheet. I had my old and new heads flowed on the same bench so I could properly compare.

Batmobile/SS: Thank goodness I'm not the only one on this site to share a little truth. Also shows I'm not making this stuff up. Thanks Batmobile!

That looks like a pretty good flowing head with a 2899 price tag to me.

Mine flowed 287 @ .550 but they made 66more rwhp then the stock heads. Every bench is different. If the heads were flowewd on GTPs bench it would be above 300. You can also have a head that flows more but makes less power.

Wow...those numbers certainly don't look all that impressive. With companies like Absolute Speed and TEA setting the benchmark for great flowing heads at respectable prices, it seems as though GTP either needs to come up with some new innovation, or drop the prices on their heads. No flames against their quality, but their bang for the buck ratio is pretty low...

Well, I'd rather make 66 more rwhp than have nice flow #s!

One bench, my heads flow 300+. Another, they flow 287. If you want to compare 2 heads, send them to the same shop and have them both tested on the same bench. My GTP's outflowed (by 15cfm) my old ARE's which ARE at the time claimed to flow 299 cfm. GTP says my heads flow over 300.
However, when I test both heads on the SAME bench, the numbers are totally different (much lower). The plus is I can compare my old heads to my new. Different bench, different day, maybe different testing parameters, make head flow numbers very hard to compare from shop to shop.
Does that make more sense now?

Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
My GTP Stage 2+ heads flowed 329 @ .600 lift. They were done in 10/02. My motor has a bit of a leak down issue due to the rings so I haven't gotten any good dyno numbers as of yet.

Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
i personally dont believe that there are any LS1 heads out there that flow that kind of number (329 cfm). i think like most crap on the net that seems too good to be true, that it is too good. some of these newbie guys are really doing well, and some are just putting numbers on the net trying to market their stuff. sorry, but i have seen the true flow numbers. dont give me that crap of flow benches vary with different operators unless you want to admit some cheat. sf600's are very very consistent. unfortunately it takes some BS number out there to get dumb people's attention. 295 cfm (even if true) isnt getting anyone's attention anymore. for things like this and claims of 470 rwhp dyno spikes, the internet just plain sucks.
nice to see a few people stand up and protect people from getting ripped off.

I think you are getting to caught up in the flow numbers. Would it be impressive if they flowed 315cfm and only made 415rwhp but cost a little less. I've seen heads that flowed the same as mine or more but did not make the same increase in power. Trust me a set of heads is the last thing you want to skimp on.

Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
What's the difference that a set of heads can flow the same or more yet make less power?
(I'm trying to decide on some heads and just trying to educate myself)

Since I have got to test several different "leading" ported cylinder heads (GTP) included, I have got to see just what has happened. I know the "flow bench trick" that makes the 300+ numbers. I'm not saying anyone is doing it But I'm not intersted in inflated numbers. I want real numbers. Because I want to know my gains. I can put the same head on my bench every day with no change to it. It will flow the same from day to day every time. Why? No tricks. They get flowed like they are suppose to. Every head, mine or not. I knew the truth would come out sometime.
The best test, as quoted, is testing comparing different heads on the same bench.

Re: Anyone have GTP heads flow #s?
I don't have the sheet in front of me but my
stage 2+'s flowed close to 300....that and the customer service from craig will keep me coming back.
Thay are a TOP NOTCH SHOP....
Props to MTI's heads too...but GTP's are right w/em and you can get better turn around and more personal service.

How can anyone argue with JSEARS RWHP? 445 hp with GTP heads and Tr230 cam speaks very highly of his heads! I will take results like that over great head only flow numbers any day!
