ET,
I used .030 top and .034 second on my 4.060 bore x 3.48 stroke gen 1. It was fuel injected with a dry nitrous system, with 8 .036-.042 jets depending on speed needed. Best ET @ 3100# was 8.25@ 165.

Anyone else have suggestions on gap numbers, for nitrous applications?
Thanks to all

Can you clarify how I determine my RPM range?

[QUOTE=etperformance]This is definetly a race only application.

With this statement, I assumed this was a track only car? Is it? If it is then what RPM do you leave at, what do you shift at, what do you come through the lights at? If it is a street driven car at all, I would use the spec's the ring mfg has given. Good input can also be obtained from the piston mfg.

do you plan on making power from 4000-rev limiter? or 2000-6000..etc... where are you wanting to make power?

I leave at about 3500 RPM (3800 Stall), the current cam makes poer at about 4000-to rev limit(65-6600). Its an A4, and currently shifts right before rev limiter. And yes, it is trailered everywhere. As to what RPM's I was going through the lights, I have never paid attention. I do know that I am going a little larger on my split duration cam. My current cam is a
232/236 .598/601 on 114 XE-R advance. The power is for sure mid-high RPM range.

I'd gap the 2nd 10 to 15% larger then the top ring.

Ok, looks like I am going with recommendations of tighter gap on top, anyone want to tell me the gap size for the top, so that I can determine the second?

Multiply .0075 by your bore size for the top ring with N20. I then add .003-.004 to the second.
If your bore was 3.9 I would use .029 on top and .032 on second.
