Cam bearing question

Cam bearing question

Building LQ9. Pulled cam out and this is what the front bearing looks like. Little rough on the top half of bearing. Next bearing looks the same. Should i change them out? Stock cam looks smooth.

When ever I do a rebuild, no matter condition of block, i have my machine shop replace them as cheap insurance, even if they look

Change them, they are not expensive to have done. They can create low oil pressure unchanged. About $ 150 to have a shop do them.

what kinda build? budget beater? leave 'em be. they all look like that. even at 30k miles.

fancy full tilt forged everything and 500 dollar head studs? yeah new ones are not expensive.

Was trying to keep budget. Decided to put in all new bearings and rings. Since I wad putting in Tick SNS stage 3 cam, 243 heads and LS6 intake.

Mic the cam and mic the bearings, that tells you what you should do.

I just pulled my cam an hour ago and this is what it looks like (37k miles). I was just researching this topic. From what I found if they're still smooth run em. If they're pitted and scored it might be worth changing.
