Just got a good set of 317 heads that im using for my single turbo 5.3 iron block. but now im not sure where to go from here i know that i need dual springs and better valves. my goal is 20-25 lbs of boost shooting for 1000hp or close. plenty have done on very stock setups but i want a little safety net. so what would be the best head upgrades for a budget minded build?
so far:
stock rockers( from what not sure)
Ls7 lifters
hardened push rods (prolly comp-either 5/16 or 3/8 if possible)
dual springs (good ones?)
upgrade valve caps and retainers
upgraded valves(what is best?)
upgrade trunnion kit (whats a good one for what rockers)
oem valve seals
--hopefully i can find a good valve kit, spring kit, etc like that.
mild port work on the heads i will do
looking for the best stuff i can use on a budget.
kits are the best it seems for price and what they come with.
i don't have a cam picked out yet but so far - lots of lift with low overlap.
im not particular to any brands. i know comp is good on a budget.
any info or help is appreciated.
