Default New to LSX... need build advice (6.0 lq4)

So I just got a 6.0 LQ4 from a 2002 Silverado.

My goal is to put it in my Iroc. My goal is 450 RWHP. I'm hoping to achieve this with H/C/I/Longtubes

So with that being said I'd like to ask a few questions and maybe get linked on to some good supporting parts..

1. Is my goal of 450rwhp feasible with H/C/I/Long tubes? What else would I need to be there?

2. I was looking at the 228r from Texas Speed, but what heads would I need to work with the cam? AFAIK not just any heads will meet my performance goals and all lol

3. Basically.. I need to be steered in the right direction on what I need to get the cam in.. things I should be replacing..etc..

To make it simpler, what rocker arms, push rods, valve springs, heads, lifters, and intake should I get to meet my power goals and be compatible with eachother? Also if there's a better cam than the one I chose please feel free to give input...

What's the budget? On my last setup, I was a stock bottom end Lq4 with PRC 5.3l stage 2.5 heads 60cc chamber, .045 gasket, custom tick 232/235 cam, 1-3/4 pacesetters, FAST lsxrt. Made 420hp through a stalled 4l80e on a Mustang dyno. Ran 11.6 @119 on motor in a fairly light g-body. Drove it every day. Eventually spun a cam bearing and went on to bigger things. But it was a nice combo. Heads could have been better. Cam could have been bigger. Headers were a little small.

There are a lot of results in the dyno section you could check out.

I wouldn't say a huge budget, cause I still need to buy a new k member and swap parts for my iroc, but the budget ain't too bad if it gets me to my goal.. that sounds like it was a fun set up for sure!!

Contact Tony Mamo @ MMS, his Sportsman 223 Heads, rockers, mild cam
something like (227/233 .620"/.600" 114+2), Ported Fast 102,
ARH 1 7/8' LTs with true dual exhaust 450-475 RWHP with a manual
trans all day long. Great throttle response and daily drivability
when you combine Great Heads with a medium cam VS good heads
and a large cam.

Looking at that setup my budget ain't that big lmao... maybe I overcalculated..

How does a TSP 228r with Trickflow 220 cast heads sound? and a ls6 intake.. maybe a fast intake or some port work.. don't know what pushrods and rocker arms and valve springs to go with though.. is there a kit that sells these as a bundle?? It's my first time building my own motor so go easy on me if I'm saying anything stupid lol..

Look at my MMS 223 heads for a really powerful budget build but no sacrifice to the quality I normally deliver with anything Im putting my name on (You should Google my name also if your unfamiliar with my background and reputation).

I can set you up with a complete package surrounding these heads. Its probably a better conversation than it is PM's or emails....especially with all the questions I anticipate you might have.

Read this thread.....if it catches your interest and you would like to discuss things in more detail with me just PM me at that point (or email me) and leave me your contact info so I can call you back
