I cleaned up a set of 243’s and I figure by the time I mill them and install a decent set of springs on them... I’d be into these heads for more than these which claim pretty good flow numbers and have SS valves. Are these similar to (if not the same) as the procomps everyone hates? Or are these something different? I spoke to the seller and he said they have a .450 deck on them as well.

They look decent but for that cheap you just gotta be suspicious
I'm sure the tech members unanimously vote you to be the first to put them on a three HP per cube application and let us know......

It’s tempting! I’m sure I can sell these ported 243’s w springs for enough to cover them. Just heard so many horror stories about the COMP stuff that I didn’t want to be the guinea pig!

Here is the valvetrain bits source: http://qualcast.net/

I'd consider it.

I have these same exact heads.....in the box still, but if they are anything like the other ls3 heads i got from clewho your gonna have to change the valvesprings and accompanying hardware. ...he doesn't use valve spring seat locaters....just washers he calls special shims

For the record clewho valvesprings must always be replaced, or corrected......at the least, and always thougholy blow out all the passages for excess machining waste......he usually leaves a mess behind...bottom line you get what you pay for......

Remove the shims and remove the inner springs , just run the outer springs with the top hats......I used blue ls6 springs and top hats....but definitely toss those shims and install the correct locators.....easiest route would be top hats ,and remove inner springs to clear top hats

If you remove the inner spring, the outer might not be strong enough to do its proper job. Check the spring rates for the inner and outer separately before doing it.

Yeah you'd have to check like G said, but the e bay seller claims you can remove the spring for them too work that way....he has the spring ratings on his listing fine print.....I just tossed all of his springs and installed beehives on both sets just cause after seeing that washer/shim bs. I simply didn't trust his work....I suggest u do the same regardless what spring route you go!

Proheader Performance is a new company, started in 2010. But they have an extensive line of components with their name on them. I smell chinese food. https://www.coloradospeed.com/speedmaster79-ezp-88.html

Never use cheap parts, they're too expensive.
