Out of curiosity, and because I'm a noob at reading cams, how is the driveability with the 9 degrees of overlap that cam has? I love the sound of the idle and I"m doing a very similar build and about all I have left is cam choice lol.

I have zero idle / bucking / or stalling issues.. it starts and smooths out right away.. the only time it may get a little iffy would be a real cold start in the winter or something, which most don't drive in.. if you drive the car every single day i would recommend toning it down a touch with high flow cats and a good muffler, but don't see any issue at all other than it may be a little loud if have set up like mine ( 1 7/8 headers, ORY, SLP LM2..Its very loud). I think it works perfectly in my case being a weekend driver, so mine being loud doesn't bother me much at all. It turns a ton of heads and constantly get compliments! If i had houses real close to mine i'm sure the neighbors would start getting pissed though lol. I may eventually tone mine down a touch with a different catback or a borla Xr1 and run a cut out, but none of that takes away from the driveability it's just something to consider.

With all that said, it really is all in the tune! Ive had a 228/230 cam buck and surge horribly in the past because of the tune.. this 230/236 drives perfect and makes a lot of power while maintaining driveability. I was nervous with the 9 degrees overlap, but think its the perfect happy medium. I would highly recommend this to someone that is looking for a good balance between street/strip.

Nice results. I bet you are happy with it. I can't wait to get my car back on the dyno now that I've got the FAST on.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty pumped, just hoping these numbers hold true come track time.. I'd like to trap at 120 but we will see.. should be 117-119 easy I would think

Hopefully my 10 bolt survives a pass or 2 lol

Let me know what you think!

Thanks to Martin for a killer cam spec, Cam motion for a high quality cam core, and AI for having some of the best ported 243s available. Highly doubt I'd be near my goal without all of the high quality products put into this build!
Martin is damn good at what he does. No wuestion. Good solid numbers on a loaded dyno. Congratulations!

Couldn't agree more, he hit the nail on the head with this cam spec. Matched my heads and set up real well and was able to help me achieve my goals.

Now its time to see what it can do! Hoping sometime in May depending on weather.

Wow!! That curve is awesome! Very surprised the peak power is at 7k rpm with that size cam. Definitely working well.

You better rev that thing over 6800. Not even to peak power yet. Would be cool to see how well the power carried/to what rpm.

Awesome combo.

72000 shift and let it eat.
Car will run 120+. I have an iron block and nearly same power and trap 122

When you're racing it at the track, definitely shift at least 7000RPM. Putting around town no real need, especially with that table top torque curve.

I believe my tuner bumped the shift points closer to 7k, I was just concerned about taking the auto trans that high. I wasn't sure how much difference a 100-150 rpms would make.. I got it back today from my tuner and this thing feels like a beast, it definitely picked up more power since I drove it on the base tune and drives perfectly. I have a feeling I might have some traction issues with this new set up lol.

Traction issues? Do a x-pipe and 3:90+ gears then come back lol seriously tho I like that top end setup.

2200 DA.. full weight other than removing the spare tire.. excuse the reaction time.. they randomly threw a pro tree at me.. all day they did 3 lights than green other than my best run of course.. might have tapped 11.4 on this if I would have known it was coming. Stock 10 bolt with 3.23 and racestar drag set up. I'm very happy with the results.. going to go when DA is better next time and remove my sway bar to see if I can hit 11.2-11.4 range at 119-121

I was playing around with my Vikings for the first time too trying to get them dialed in.. the settings I'd ended up getting best traction with was front 18C 0R and rear 5C 9R and MT drag radials at 22psi (getting low on tread also).. my friend has some go pro videos taken from my rear fender that I'll try to post to get recommendations for improvement.. if I get that 60 ft down a touch more I'll be low 11s I think.
