Default Anyone using Summit 1.8 roller rockers?

Using this $370 kit.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g6981/overview/

They claim there is no need to clearancing and that they are a direct drop in with factory bolts and valve covers. I noticed the corner Rockers only have .020-.025 ish clearance between the heads valve cover perimeter surface and the rear of the rocker arm. Is this enough? Makes me nervous.

I'll try to get a better pic tonight.

That link shows 1.7 ratio.

Those look oddly familiar.

these...

Picked them up from 91LT16SpeedFormula in the classifieds a few weeks back for $200 shipped. Figured I'd give them a try.

They're identical to the ones JEGS sells, price is even exactly the same.

If they are what I think they are, you can just get the China branded ones for a lot less.

Story of my life right there! Which ones do you think they are?

I did an ebay search first and didn't see anything close. The pro comp steel deals are the only ones I saw cheaper.

Still scored them for $200 shipped! woot!

The installation PDF almost makes you think it’s US made.

Congratulations. you have just purchased the very best LS 1 ·LS6 Vortec, 4800, 5300, 6000 rocker arm,
money can buy. These rockers are designed and engineered by some of the best engine builders In
the country. That Is why you can just bolt them on. All the checking has been completed for you on
your OEM application. You will not have to change pushrods or add guide plates, or rocker studs, not
even valve cover spacers. These rockers use the factory bolts torqued to factory specifications.
Then at the very bottom it says

These rockers are designed for stock application. We do not recommend turning over 6,5OO rpm on
stock applications.
Who buys aftermarket rockers to stay below 6500 rpm?

They' made b Scorpion. I used to have a set a very long time ago when they were prone to breaking at the cups. I broke several and summit reimbursed be for the set.

I will say this, they installed amazingly with no issues. The wipe was dead center on every valve. And they've upgraded the design since. I'd recommend them to anyone who doesn't have a ton of spring pressure, as long as they're still not prone to breakage.

I'll find out! I have another mild LS with the Howards version of the GM hotcam (much lower lift) I can throw them on that if reliability becomes an issue. Could do a back to back with OEM rockers too and see what I pickup.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them with a low lift, mild ramp etc.. cam.

I've used several sets over the years other than the High $$$ shaft mounts and these were great. No shimming, fit under the valve covers without issues.

$229 would make me want to try a set on my 5.3 with a factory LS2 cam.
