Default LS2 main caps help

I came into a pair of LS2 blocks very cheaply here recently. Blocks look great except for one thing: no main caps. I'd like to build these, but had no idea what I was getting into, seemingly nobody around is able to machine a set of caps. Does anybody have any input for how I should proceed?
I do have a set of LS2 caps, but they are not original to either of these blocks.

Thanks for the help in advance.

People fit caps to other blocks all the time. I've got a set of billet caps on the way right now, for my new build. You'll need to find a shop that can align bore and hone the block, with your caps on it. If your gonna run aftermarket fasteners on the mains, make sure that they are on it, and torqued properly.
Pm me if you'd sell one of the blocks...

You should be able to use the ls2 caps you have or buy the billet caps. Either way they will have to align bore/hone them to fit.

Thanks guys. I at least have an idea of where to start / know I don't have scrap. Anybody happen to know of a shop in driving distance of South Carolina that would tackle something like this? My usual shop had no idea and kind of implied they were no good because of the mains.

Default Billet Mains

Hi Jay, you have a great find, low cost GEN-IV LS-2 blocks.

The Katec, Pro Gram, etc. caps are a common upgrade.

WARNING : First fit the center main cap to the block AND CHECK for thrust alignment.
That thrust area should be even top/bottom.

When found to be correct fit your ARP Studs then measure the housing bores.
Try to "find" a cap/main bore that is the closest match switching the locations if necessary.

When finished "mark" the locations, then do the Align Hone/Align Bore.

The chance for a Align Hone ONLY is possible !
