Default cheap ebay solid lifters

so per our policy regarding products of non sponsors I cant post a direct link

but use this search term "GM/CHEVY LS1/LS2/LS3/LS6/LS7 ALL ELITE RACER SOLID ROLLER LIFTERS VERTICAL BAR"

and you'll see some solid roller lifters that dont look like a copy of anything I recognize.

they look like they are based on an early ls1 type hyd lifter

anyone have any experience with them?

I'm not looking to go solid roller anytime soon, just curious.

Thanks

Lifters are the absolute lady place I'd want to take a chance....potential to do incredible damage and a pain to replace. A good set of solid lifters isn't terrible expensive either

I'd do it in something I didn't care about.

Morel has a set of solid roller tie bar lifters in the $350 range with a .750 wheel. You dont have to spend the moon to go solid roller. Buy off ebay you get what you pay for. Trying to get ahold of most ebay companies is difficult to begin with, but then hoping they provide tech support etc...you get the picture.
We carry ALL morel lifters. If you have any questions on them, let me know.

Lol. Let us know where you're getting your adjustable rocker arms for a solid roller setup.

This is a lifter thread....so my statement was pointed toward lifters.

Using adj rocker arms is just one way to skin th cat so to speak. Yes the other way is a pita, but there are many people doing that as well..not just on ls.
It appears with a short search Kurt Urban uses and knows of guys that use the stock rocker. My guess would be with a modified trunion, but still stock rocker.

Or like kcs posted our link...the adj rocker arm doesnt always have to be on the pushrod cup.

Besides im sure ebay has cheap ls adj rockers also.

Never buy cheap parts. They're too expensive.

A few guys are using stock rockers or something like YTs shimmed with the solid rollers.

I would spend the cash on the Morels. They can be had for under $400 in both the drop-in and link-bar. And for a milder solid roller... like a Cam Motion LLR... they would work fine.

If you go more extreme, you need more extreme parts like a bushed lifter with an upgraded wheel and shaft mounts.

But I wouldn't skimp and buy ebay lifters. Certain things are okay... like headers, radiators, intercoolers, or even copycat BOVs and the like. They seem to do okay for the price. When you start moving to internal engine components that rely on precision, it becomes an issue.

I have a large in depth thread on using stock rockers with shims. Car is still running that way and I've never adjusted shims since the cam was first installed.

Kinda makes it hard to justify spending the big money on rocker arms. I'm very pleased with the setup. It did take a few hours to put together but it's been zero maintenance so I can't complain.

Shimming and pushrod length can only get you so far with rocker arm geometry on a non adj setup. Side loading the valve can be a big issue with non PM guides. Stock rockers work well that is no doubt, but everyone has their own recipe to success.
Properly designed full roller rockers can provide gains in quite a few areas.

Also very true, can't argue with any of those points.

And aside from the geometry benefits one day I would be curious to swap on a set and see if there were any performance gains too. ~$1100 plus new valve covers is a tough pill to swallow for some of us though haha.

Some of the gains likely cannot be normally measured. Guide wear would be one of those. Valve tip and stem wear also.

Do you mean on solid roller only? Or just a std rocker swap on a dyno?

they keep wastewater at treatment plants turbulent, aka they "stir the ****" which is fair if it refers to my comment on boB's post.

but my original question is genuine. If these exist, someone is buying them. I was hoping someone had actual experience with them. I guess I'll be the guinea pig.
