Default Dead horse cam choices

Looking at a few cams for my c5. Full exhaust, 3.15 gear, 315 radials. Converter and cam are going in at the same time. Was looking at the BTR stg3, VRx5 or Vindicator, tick polluter, magic stick, or something else along those lines. Just about set on a yank ss3500 converter. This car is not a daily but gets drove to the track on track nights and the occasional 2-3 hr joyride. Emissions are of no concern as well. Sound off and lets beat this horse some more.

What else done is done to the car besides the torque converter?

Do you have a E.T goal ?

Do you plan on keeping it naturally aspirated down the road or spraying a shot of juice sometimes ?

Plan on hitting the car with a 175 for grudge races, and running na to run footbrake brackets.
Car is just about dead stock at the moment. Ive got a vararam, ls6 intake, 1 7/8 headers, off road x pipe, and tsp axel back on the way. Im ordering a cam and converter in tbe next few days. Looking at a yank ss3500 converter. Would like to see 11.99 or better off the hose, and 10.50 on spray.

The BTR cam would be my choice out of those you posted if you go spray the motor sometimes. The cam from vengeance do not have enough split / duration on the exhaust for the juice. The tick polluter cam.... which one you talking about? They offer more than one by they site.

The polluter 6 cam is spec to be a max effort naturally aspirated camshaft. Not enough split for nitrous usage.

Torque max 3 is basically the btr stage 4 235/242 cam which responds well to nitrous.

I think that the btr3/3500 combo should get a c5 into the 11s through a full exhaust on good tires.

Those are big cams for a light bolt on car with 3.15 gears. Are you familiar with there manners on the street? If you got someone to spec you a cam I doubt they would go that big. Not bashing just asking

This is my 7th cammed ls car, all fbodies before this vette. Im comfortable with their street manners. Ive had cams from 228 to 240 in previous builds. I just stepped out of a mid 230s duration turbo car. I wouldnt exactly call a car with cai, full exhaust, 3500 converter, a swapped intake, and nitrous a light bolt on car. Whats left, a useless throttle body? Underdrive pulley? At some point in time it will get a set of heads, but im not changing cams when it does. To get into the 11s on stock heads its gonna need a healthy stick. Some mid 220s duration cam isnt going to get there.

You very well could hit 11's with converter and full exhaust.

Remember it don't take that much power to get a 11 sec slip from a C5 vs a heavier F body. There is weight difference between the two.

From our camshafts the VRX5 should get you to where you want to be time/mph wise, and be a much better match for the converter. I'd typically like to see a bit more stall speed running a Vindicator in a C5 platform. Let me know if we can help on any of these and I'll be happy to!

Thanks david, ill give you guys a ring. Ive pretty much came to either the btr3 recommended by btr, and i have yet to talk with your group for a selection. The vrx5 does seem to put down some impressive numbers and ets.
