Default Which lifters for DD LS1?

All of these can be had for around the same price... which are better for a DD LS1?

Morel 5315/6504
Comp Cams 850-16
Comp Cams Pro Magnum 875-16

They are only around $60 more than the GM ones.

I apologize for any ignorance in my question. I know next to nothing about lifters.

Morel 5315 or the Johnson 2110s (which are more expensive).

The 5315s would likely fit what you are wanting to do esp with your upgraded heads. The 5315 are an ls7 body that has been polished, with heavier duty morel internals.

We have the ls2 trays with them as well for $229

The morels are nice and quiet for DD, but I would still probably do the LS7s on a DD car that doesn't see high rpm or beating on constantly.

If you knew his other threads an his ideas and attention to detail youd recommend the morels as well. If you are using a heavier spring for whatever reason the ls7 lifters wont like it as much. Plus the morels are not that much more. Money well spent. Peace of mind is almost priceless. Now the 5206 HD tie bars arent very economical esp on an sbe unless using boost or nitrous. Then id maybe recommend them. Even the 5290 arent a bad option and on a nice budget.

I just wanted to make sure that the Morels were not meant for rack only, or different height than stock, or something else.

Sorry if I beat a dead horse, I am picky about what goes on my car. Hell, I've been going back and forth on heads for about 6 months now.

They are streetable for sure, but definitely different height than stock lifters. You'll need to measure and most likely get a new set of pushrods for those compared to what you have now or LS7 lifters.

Knowing me, I'll change my mind between now and when I get everything inline to send the heads and intake to TEA.

For a Daily Driver, either the Morels or even the LS7 lifters will do nicely for you.

Have used LS7 lifters personally with success in a daily driver. Know plenty of guys that have used Morels without complaint. If you don't mind spending slightly more get the Morels as they are more robust units.
