Default Cam

Gotta replace cam, dropped lifter. Took lobe out. Messaged a vendor. Didn't get response, average time from order to when shipped on cams, as an example, off the shelf grind from TSP? Just in a tight spot. Need to get car up. Soon as I get funds I'll be ordering

I've run an F13 from futral and an MS3 from Texas speed. MS3 cam was in the car when I bought it. Good cam, all good supporting mods, but it looks like bad install or shorty job. Maybe pushrod length was wrong. Anyway, this is a screw off car. Make noise and cruise around, was going to give the MS4 a whirl. My f13 took afew weeks from futral. Just wondering if it was going to be the same again.

Ms4 will be fine just make sure you have a 3.73+ (recommended 3.90 or higher) gear really and 3400+ stall if auto.

More than half the time I message a vendor on this site it takes forever. One of them even replied to my message a month after the fact. I will tell you though that WS6Store is spot on with replying to messages. Customer service is second to none. On a different note, I run the MS3 cam right now on my dedicated drag car which has an LM7 (I know, I know, not optimal with a 5.3)and the thing rips, mostly because I have a TH350, 4.10 gear, and a 4400 stall. It's really only temporary since the custom nitrous grind I had failed within a month, and I had this laying around so I put it in while I am waiting for a new one.

Thanks. Yeah I gotcha. I just put in a fresh set of 3.73s. Car has an edge racing 3600 stall. It was in the car already. Personally I only buy yank. I'll be going back to the SS4000, might even try out the pt series stalls this time

On my LQ9 I run a cam almost identical to the MS3, and with 4.10's and a 6-speed I wouldn't want any bigger. So on a LS1 I'd think a 4.10 gear minimum (on a manual) and a 3.73 at minimum for the auto with a 4000 stall

I'll get all the parts I need. Eventually. Money permitting. I was looking at the other series to try something like a 4200 stall. I've run 3.73s, 3.90s and 4.10s in an auto before. I'd rather go bigger on the stall than the gears this time.

You would prob have more fun with a smaller cam that is less like a 3500rpm light switch, since youre losing rpm per gear with 3.73s and that cams actual power band. Tsp has some brand new designs that use their new lobes that make good power. It may not sound the same, but itll drive better and have less issues and prob be more fun to drive. a 231/236 they have would be just as fun imo and not feel so dogged under 4k.
