Default LQ4 Refresh

picked up an 05 LQ4 for my fireturd
motor has about 130k on it

got it pulled apart and it looks great

this will be my first LS engine I've done(I'm a Pontiac guy and was raised around 3 more old heads that to this day swear by N/A poncho power)

newb, I guess that I am, but I'm not new to the engine building game.

Motor is apart and I'm ordering pistons/rods/rings/Bearings here this week before I send the block out for a hone and align bore and the rotating assembly balanced.
Ill be assembling myself and posting the build under forced induction....

my question is in regards to Autotec pistons

anyone running these, I believe stock48 was and his builds are really what made me say **** the rusty poncho 400 in my shed I'll spend half and LS swap the SOB. Shout out to that denmah dude too, holy **** man I live like 3 hours from him but i still want to be that guys friend. That **** is that **** we all like.

What rings should I buy with these pistons? I'd assume a steel top, but what about thickness?

Connect yourself with WS6 Store. They are a sponsor here and will set you up with whatever you need at prices that you will like. They have full overhaul kits or will piece one together from whatever parts you both come up with. Tell them all about your build, you will get the right parts!

We are cheaper than summit and amazon, our kits are more complete, offer real life tech advice, and can custom taylor them any way needed with diff gaskets, upgraded etc.

I'd do this, we have 6.0s with over 200k running strong and beating on them.

I have been considering it but I am going turbo this winter. I figured it'd be best to forge the rods and pistons while I have it apart now

Those are actually part of the upgrades we normally offer. buying it as a complete package deal gets you everythin you need from one place plus a better price as well! we have quite a few customers upgrade to forged pistons and rods with our complete rebuild combos.
