But i also like your guy's high lift hot cam, I'm still not sure what to get, at first I wanted the high lift asa cam but 110lsa its too choppy and the 112 lsa on the hot cam sounds great

Just get the ASA cam if you’re so concerned with numbers.

Was that on a 5.7L engine? What was your rear diff ratio?

5.7 liters? Do you remember the LSA on that cam?

Thanks!

Sarg you cannot just compare LSAs like that and say one is better. You have to look st all of the cam specs including lsa.
They are made for 2 separate reasons.
The high lift hot cam is more of an entry level style where they want a good bump in power but maybe have an auto and want to use the stock stall and gears. Or they want a super easy daily driver for a manual trans. Its range is roughly 2k and up.
The high lift asa requires a stall and gears are recommended. Due in part to the overlap but also the mid range duration. You will lose a little bottom end just putting it in to an all stock ls1 but it makes up for that mostly in mid range and top end, sounds very aggressive, and is a great overall cam. But its range is more 3k and above.
If you are chasing numbers with cams you arent going to get the best cam for you is what I think. The number shouldn't matter (within reason of course). The way the cam performs overall in more than just power should be the way to choose one.
Trying to compare a 218/227 to a 230s cam or larger just isnt realistic at all.
