Lq4 mods suggestions w/224r 69 f100
Just looking for some suggestions on my 69 f100 shortbed build. I'm looking to build a fun toy that can be used as a truck if needed. It's an LQ4 with a 4L60E, I've picked up a TSP 224R .600/.600 on 112, BTR 7.4 pushrods and a Pro Torque 3500 converter. I'm looking at picking a set of aftermarket used heads so I'm just looking around for a good deal and not in a rush. Should I stay with a cathedral port? I think an LS3 head and intake would make this 4000lb truck a dog down low. This truck would probably see the track 2 or 3 times a year and would not be a daily driver. There was a set of CNC ported 317's with .660 springs I was looking at for about 1000 it I passed on them to get more information and suggestions. Thanks

Yeah, stay with cathedrals. Look for either 243's or 799's (they are the same casting) and get them CNC ported. If you get them milled you will have to trade your pushrods for shorter ones. You should never buy pushrods until you have checked for the correct length you will end up needing. Then get some good springs that will handle the .600 cam.

I ended up finding used trick flows, they were 64cc taken down to 60cc. Now I'm worried about the cam being an older design and the 7.4 p-rods being too long to the heads. I was thinking of the BTR truck cams but I think I'll go ahead and use what I have.
