Need help finding an ls1 cam

A question on doing the camshaft installation.
My car hast the factory 2000 Z28 camshaft and computer.
Is there a need to have a custom tune after installing the cam kit?
Any idea how much HP / Torque I could gain with a custom tune for the camshaft over keeping the factory tune?

Nearly any cam over stock or even ls6 size would need tuning. You couldn't begin to quantify gains as the car would likely be undriveable and may not start well and stay running.
Gains from the tune and the cam differ based kff total mods ie cai, intake, exhaust heads etc.
The high lift hot cam should gain roughly 60 hp+ with ls6 intake and headers.

I would recommend out high lift hot cam. Sounds aggressive at idle, quiet on the valvetrain, easy on springs, budget minded, and drives easy. Makes good power.

What is the red line for the canned tune you have that works with this cam with the recommended upgraded springs?

We dont have canned tunes. I know there is a forum sponsor lsx power tuning that can get you set up though. check them out!

I dont remember that, but we can point you to mail order or in person tuners in your area. We do tunes in house and we do offer remote tuning via hptuners, but we don offer mail order tunes.

Honestly the people that use this cam are normally using an ls6 intake or even upgrade to the fast92 or 102. It will change quite a bit JUST based off those different intakes and whether they are ported. Same way with any ls3 combo.
On an ls6/243/ls1 combo to be in the 6400-6500 range with shifting at 6600-6800. Some may pull it higher but without an individual dyno graph, its all just a guess.
