Default Iron LS6?

I have an early 5.3 that needs to be bored. I would like to find a set of gen 4 rods with pistons to build a 5.7. Is there something stock that I can be searching for on evilbay to find this pistons and rod combination? It will be topped with 243/799 heads.

The floating wrist pin 5.7 pistons are very rare. Good luck.

Yeah late 2003 model and 2004 only had the floating pins and coated skirts.
The factory ones will have the tallest pin center to top height.....meaning they will pop outta the hole .007" on an un-decked block
Aftermarket pistons are usually shorter and require the deck of the block to be machined in order to tighten up the quench again; may be what you want to do anyways.....your call

I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to. The only gen 3 that had floating pin in 2003 was LQ9 . There was a late introduction in 2004 .All 2005 across-the-board had floating pin .

Could swear I've read and heard others say the real late 03/04 LS 1/6 and LQ9 had the gen IV style floating rods. My Vette was a mid year 03 with LS6 short but press fit rods. My early year 03 Silverado SS had coated skirts but press fit according to what I read (never tore that one apart)

That is correct. The 04 model such as the Corvette, GTO, and the CTS-V had the Floating pin piston and rod combo with coated skirts.

GM part number 89017581

Stock replacement piston for 2004 Corvette LS1 & LS6 engines, 2004 - 2005 Cadillac CTS-V LS6, and 2004 Pontiac GTO LS1

LQ9's in 2003 also received a Floating pin piston and rod combo.

my 04 gto was gen 3 pressed pin. I bought an ls2 59 swap in and was thinking the ls2 had aftermarket rods when I was comparing them side by side. I would assume it has somintbing to do with the sane reason some 04 Gris had equal length head bolts and some had the long and short. Mine were long and short

They arent rare but can be harder to find used from an engine. We have them for $320 with rings though ;-) brand new.
We also have recon gen4 rods that have been cleaned and honed on both ends ready to go also.
Still budget friendly. Or even sets of scat forged i beam 6.100s with arp bolts for $300.
