Default ATK Long Blocks

Does anyone have any experience with these blocks? SDCP has them for $2700 as a direct replacement for an LS1?
Seems like the a very economical way to go.
Any feedback appreciated.

I was just looking at this one...

http://www.high-performance-engines....uct-p/sp88.htm

I emailed them and they confirmed that they use an actual ls6 block. I don't think they make those anymore and everyone else is using a 5.3 block bored to build their 347's.

Quite a few people on here with our engines/short blocks. If you are looking for one of the Performance options, I plan on having a sale this month I will be posting up this week on them.

Let me know if we can help and thanks for the plug once again jrpimp00, happy to hear shes still running strong!

Unfortunately GM did discontinue the LS1/LS6 block and we are out of inventory so will be discontinuing the aluminum versions. We can always build the iron version!

Will the iron block 347 need any work to mount up all the accessories in a 2004 GTO? I thought I read somewhere that a gen 3 5.3 iron block does not have the bolt holes to mount the accessories for cars in the stock location. I'm wanting to go with a procharger in kit form so I'd like everything mounted up in the stock locations.

You will have to drill out and tap the D/S accessory hole. The truck blocks have the boss, but its not drilled. There are companies that make simple templates that bolt up so you can drill it in the proper location making it easy. Other than that its gtg.

Can you take an aluminum 5.3 and make a 5.7? I am surprised no one has started making the LS6 blocks yet for reproduction.

I believe that is what Texas Speed and Performance does to build their 5.7.
