Default help with cam

ok i know this has been done a million times but I and new to this and would like some help with cam choice.

I have a stock short block ls1 with afr 215 heads with 0.040 compressed head gasket, pistons are 0.006 above deck which gives me 0.034 quince.

compression ratio is 10.7 , has comp cams adjustable timing set , 25 % under driven pulley set , stock rockers , 102mm fast intake with 100mm bbk throttle body . headers are 4 into one , primary pipes are 1 7/8 into a 3" chamber then reduces to 2 1/2" exhaust system.

160 thermostat / rear end is true track centre with 3.7 gear ratio with a 245/40/18 wheels. car weight is 3790 pounds. at this point I have a comp cam xr 265 hr which is making 387 hp at the wheels.

now I have good flowing head I would like a better cam to suit this set up.

has a 4l60 trans with a 2000 -2200 still .
it will also need to work with a 125 shot of nos.

any help would be great and thanks.

If you are looking for times at the strip youll need a better concerter than that...but the converter will also limit you.

Our high lift hot cam would be a step up from that setup and would like nitrous quite a bit. Itll work with that stall no problem also.

Xr265hr is a 212/218. The high lift hot cam is a 218/227 .600/.600 112 lsa.

I think you will like the high lift hot cam from WS6store, as it has a lot of lift without the harsher lobes Comp is known to use. Plus a very flexible power curve.

Lunati has a couple of "Voodoo" cams that you might have interest in. They have a 217/223 medium lift. They also have a 219/223 high lift. I went with the high lift. Just waiting on shop to install. Both will work with stock convertor so you are good with yours for sure.
A cool research tool is the TSP website. They have dyno charts for a lot of there cams. Go to you tube for even more. You will even see where "torque" cams differ from "horsepower" cams. They are on a 5.3 though. You also should consider one of those cams. They offer shelf cams in a very logical sequence from mild to wild.
Another cool video about the Lunati 219/223 that swayed me was "the little cam that could". Google that and it will give you info on cams of varying durations.

Default Crower Cams Camshaft

Hi BJ, I ship many IGN-1A coils to NZ, ask Green Brothers, SRS, etc.

I ship USPS with low customs duty.

I would spec, for your guess (a heavy foot NZ man), Crower Cams Grind :
232/246 .560"/.560" 116 C/L

I would do a DRY NOS

I could include the head studs.

Lance. BTW Bob Clarkson was a customer of mine (your Pri M in the past ?)
