Default High lift asa cam drive ability?

Thinking of going with this cam (WS6)and tfs as cast heads. Wanting to hear some real world experiences on this cam and drivability. This will be a dbc(LS1), Automatic with 3200 stall.

Give WS6store.com a call. They will refer you to customers who've installed it. So far it has gotten a good reception.
Edit- OOPPSS did not catch the ASA part of the Hot Cam name up there. "High Lift ASA" and "High Lift Hot Cam" are 2 different cams. The one I am discussing is the High Lift Hot Cam

I’ve got one about to fire up in a 6 liter Silverado hot rod. I’ll post up something soon...

Sounds like a solid choice with a 3200 stall

There are several cams in the 226-228 range with ~600 lift that are strong performers. Titan 4, Tick SNS2, streetsweeper HT. The high lift ASA should perform similarly with those. It should be a good midrange torque cam that carries well up top.

Those are 2 sep cams lol.
The high lift asa and the high lift hot cam.
They were designed to be solid budget performers.
Brand new lobes and relatively new on the market, but quieter than a few out there.
If i knew the exact specs on those cams Darth, i could compare them on paper, but the only 1 that all the info is available on is the tick sns.
The high lift asa cam does have quite a bit of overlap so you will need gears and a stall if auto. It will buck or surge down low unless you tuner bandaids it if you use the stock 2.73, 3.23, or even 3.42 gears.
We recommend at least 3.73 for the best drivability and itll get you quicker into the powerband. As far as stalls, a 2600 is the min.
Hope that helps!

Yeah guess I was confused with the asa and hot cam. Asa is the one you guys recommend with the as cast tfs heads.
That’s what I was wondering about is the idle surge/bucking. I’ve got 3.73 gears and 3200 stall so it should help. I’ve got a Comp cam now 224/226 with 612/601 lift 112 LS. I have some sporadic idle surge but think some more tuning would help.

Idle surge is all tuning. That cam would be great with your stall and current gears.

Highly considering the asa or hot cam for my internally stock 99' ls1 6 speed 3.73 gear application. May port my own 853 heads, which I could do pretty decent at or spend more for professional ported stock or aftermarket, not sure yet.
Will be just street use with the occasional getting to wind it out.
Have 2 tech questions::::

How would lower to lower mid rpm throttle response be with either cam? Leaning toward hot cam
Could my stock injectors suffice with a tune for my use or would I need larger??
Thanks

My friends wife dailys hers (high lift asa). 98 ta 3.73 gears. 2600 stall. She LOVES it. Loves the sound and the power. Her hubby tries to race it in Mexico when she isnt using it. It has quite a bit of mid range. Really starts to kick in at 2800 or so from what they tell me.
Their experience and opinions!

Stock inj are fine for the hot cam but may be on the verge on the asa. Depends on target afr, fuel supply, and total mods.
