Hello i am a new member, i am in need of expert help, i have a LQ4 Engine with L92 Heads 5364 casting number i have read with a hot cam i can get 550 Hp. I like to get 600 to 650, without boring the block what can i do that won't brake the bank.
I live in the Philippines, i am a retired Navy guy, so i can't just go buy another engine so any help would be appreciated, Question is 5364 casting number a L92 Head? I believe it is, what can i do to those heads to get more power or the engine.
I thought about stroking it, can i use the original Pistons, just change the Connecting Rods?
Please help thank you, speak in normal terms as i am just learning, sorry i am a newbie
Thank you and take care all

Guys that are getting 550 NA out of a 6.0 are doing so with RPM. Since you indicated max torque, I'm guessing you're not wanting to spin it too hard to get your goals? If that is correct, I think you'll need to go FI

Starting with a 408ci would obtain your goal easier.... 600 horses isn't so hard for a 408ci, however reaching the 650 mark can be a bit harder if you are tight on the budget.

So FI = forced induction which is either a turbo or super charger in simple terms.
Minimally you should read this, if you are interested keep reading everything on that wiki and then go to YouTube and watch the Sloppy don't BS me.

I'm building a 4.8 with a 76/65 ON3 Turbo. My budget has me at 5k all in including tranny w/converter plus the tuning software! Been doing this a long time so I'm pretty sure it is 6k.. but that is a smoking hot deal for 500 Rear wheel HP!

A roots style sc like lsa, maggie, whipple, edelbrock would be the most reliable way to make what you want day in and day out without having to rev the heck out of the engine.

If i stroke the motor with a turbo, are we talking twin or single turbos? Love the feed back it is giving me options to really think about thank you

I have 2 cars being built a 1956 Belair, and a 1967 chevelle, one will get this engine with a modern restomod with low profile tires, the other will get the 540 big block Merlin, that i already have, Question which car you all feel would look best with the low profile tires and Have the LQ4 modern look ? I am leaning to putting that 540 in the belair with big tires and a 4L80E built trans and 9 inch rear, then though the 6.0 in the Chevelle with the a 6 speed manual, low profile tires. What you all think
