Default Balancer install, use lube inside the hub or no ?

I would not think to put it on dry, but use some kinda lube inside the hub bore to cut down on friction ??? yes or no ?

Dry! It's not keyed so the only thing keeping it from spinning is the interference fit.

Are you installing stock or aftermarket?

I’ve lubed everyone I’ve ever installed, Oem and keyed aftermarket. No issues ever.

The pressure of the bolt head AND the interference fit keep it from spinning. It ain't going anywhere.

Right. The interference fit pretty much squeezes/scrapes the oil away. The fit pretty much is metal to metal.

You can also warm the balancer up in the oven a little bit to help them go on easier.

I just heat the snout of the balancer with a torch until the you feel the heat coming into the 3 " "supports".

Should slide on but if not be ready with the old bolt and a impact to drive it on the rest of the way. The faster you do it the better off you'll be, it cools very quickly.

Note there will be a gap between the outside of the balancer and the end of the crank, it's normal.

It'll be .094-.176" for a stock damper, .200-.285" with an ATI.

ok...got it on

put it in the oven 200

cooled down before i could really get it on

the GM tool proved to be on the short side .....luckily had another tool handy

did use wd40....not very slippery

every turn of the nut made the balancer go POP....scared me !

if i was to do it again i would use assembly lube !
